Ms. Simoneau is the former deputy managing editor of the Connecticut Post. She was editor of Woman Wise section and a reporter at the Post before that. After receiving a B.A. degree at University of Rhode Island, Simoneau began her career as a reporter for the Newtown Bee. For news writing she received the Society of Professional Journalists' regional award. She has been an active member of the Connecticut SPJ chapter, serving as treasurer and member of the Board of Directors since 1984, as well as Connecticut chapter president.
