Memories of SCSU:
Farnham Hall! I lived there my freshman year when it was all female. It was called, "The Nunnery." Eating at Conn. Hall.I had enough carbs there to last me a life time. Being the first person to land an internship at Entertainment Tonight in Hollywood my Junior Year . Also remembering the typing room in Engelman Hall.that was the "Journalism wing" then! T he only computers we had were at Buley and they were DOS based! Dick Conrad was our "radical" teacher who made us start using them, promising us this was the wave of the future in journalism. Can't believe what a beautiful wing Journalism has now. The program certainly deserves it.
Most interesting thing that's happened to you since graduation:
Landing a job at WTNH Channel 8 only 2 weeks after graduation. Working for Sally Jessy Raphael during that time.
Life Since Graduation:
Worked at Channel 8 as a production assistant . During that time I worked on the Sally Jessy Raphael show which was taping at Channel 8 at that time. Accepted a job at WDRC radio in Bloomfield, CT as Continuity Director . Got married in 1988 and settled in Windsor, CT. Had my first daughter in 1990 and decided to stay at home for a few years and have babies and be with them. I freelanced for Imprint Newspapers, and work at our local library while the kids were small. Became hooked on the Internet and intrigued by web design-and decided to begin my own business. I've traveled extensively around the U.S. and make it a point to visit a new place I've never been to each year! Life is too short.I plan on seeing it all! I particularly love the West Coast and the South West. I have fond memories of Southern and feel blessed that I had the opportunity to get my education there. The Journalism department, headed by Robin Glassman at the time, was ahead of it's time in thinking, and we were given the encouragement and guidance to feel as if we could accomplish anything we set out minds to. I made life long friends, and feel proud that I was part of the Southern community.
